camelia, is it you that `translated the sonnet? i suppose so, which is a noticeable deed, really. there's a mistake there with "i didn't WROTE". and i congratulate you for the keener and keener sense of criticism

It is me that translated Voiculescu’s sonnets. Sometimes I think that I have to give up. I don’t know how they sound for an English speaker/reader, maybe as some old fashioned sloppiness. Anyway, the love theme will never be played out. It is true that these trials of translating are exercises of English language (during my early morning coffee), now, at an age when it seems that nothing withal snuggles up to me. But I’d really like to give them sense. Sometimes you appear and you really do encourage me. Thank you very much! Do you think that it is worth while to go on?

"In my hermetic shell, breathless, and sure,
Leisurely, the anguish turns into a jewel."

These words are the jewel itself!

SONGO

Felix and Edilberto! These are old style poetries, with searched rhymes. So, I think that it is difficult for being translated, especially for an amateur like me. I am aware of my own clumsiness. But, I feel good here.
