Rather philosophically essay I could say!
The high developed societies will cover and hide the development because is better for the people to know less than all. If we all knew all, then a crisis situation will appear - that's why "Why would a modern society’s state, called according to all democratic constitutions to defend the well-being of a country’s all citizens?". And the evolution must come easy, not suddenly.

“What opinion the masses hold, or do not hold, is looked on
as a matter of indifference. They can be granted intellectual
liberty because they have no intellect.” - is very true what George Orwell said in these few words ... the liberty of now intellect and what comes forward is the indifference of people.
Every where we can find hidden dictatorship, even we do not know we can imagine that somewhere behind is something else ... that is hidden from mass eyes, from their thoughts, is like a diabolic manner of perceive world in the eyes of a dictator.
Hope that my opinion is right about what you want to say.

Finally I congratulate you for the gorgeous end of your essay, with the words of Mateo. We all have to trust in only one master.

What I read in your text makes me think to the Apocalypse 13:
"And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy…/…And he opened his mouth unto blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. And power was given him over every tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation. And all that dwell upon the earth adored him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb, which was slain from the beginning of the world. If any man has an ear, let him hear. He that shall lead into captivity shall go into captivity: he that shall kill by the sword must be killed by the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."

Congratulations Romulus!!!

a "theory" is based on a vast body of observation and testing that confirms a hypothesis so strongly that it might as well be considered fact. it means it will prove true on almost all possible observations. by comparison, a "law" of nature (like gravity) will always prove true.

where does creationism stand? creationism is based on the "teachings" of a single book and is telling us, among other things that:

1. the universe was created about 5 thousand years ago (or was it 7)?

2. god created all species at once, no new organisms can evolve from existing ones (bty when talking about noah's arc, the bible never mentions bacteria, viruses, etc)

3. the sun and all stars are revolving around the earth

4. etc, etc, etc

of course, anybody should be free to believe whatever they want, but this has nothing to do with what we should teach children in schools. i say, did they finally ban creationism in schools? thank god!

Knowing Orwell as a writer supporting a brand of free- thinking socialism, I do think it is a for cry to interpret "1984" as a support for creationist wievs.
Having said that, I am also required to add that certain
vulgar interpretations of the theory of evolution have proved to be a nuisance in the twentieth century. These
vulgar interpretations include for instance certain race theories beased on measures of skulls etc...
I do not acknowledge that these racist wievs were included
in Darwins original "Theory of the Origins of the Species."

As I see it Orwells real concern in the novel is about what happened in the same period as the book was written;
that is: 1948! The cold war and the all encompassing distrust between the blocks in that era added the "us and them"- thinking is the core of 1984! Orwell has merely magnified certain political phenomenas in his own present time, a typical Sci-fi trait in literature.

Some way or other I may return to this topic later on..

Cheers from Willy

Thank you all for your kind interaction. Seeing that different views are expressed, I decided to write a rather classical apology of my position, in a new essay, which I'd be honoured if you would read.
