the ferryman of the dead ferries the souls of the deceased (brought to him by Hermes)across the river Acheron, therefore "vultures" which feed off with dead animals are seen as symbols of power, divine messengers prepairing for the last transport in the black company of the bleeding sun. there are a few powerful images that enhance the axis
life-death-resurrection. i enjoyed reading through the lines
