I was born with love for nature and with love for love itself and for that I will always be grateful.
I have grown up with stories about nature and love, stories told by sensitive, romantic souls that could not help keeping what they felt only for themselves, for love is what we must always share with the others. I have grown up with stories and legends floating on the blue waters of our rivers, stories that have made me sigh or smile, stories that have always warmed my soul and made me dream and long for my own. I was born single child to my parents and princess in their intimate, warm kingdom they made themselves for me, so I knew I had to meet some day...my prince. Later in my life I met the Danube...this strong, imposing, restless river that never tires in his everlasting journey to meet his unique love...to join her immensity, to fulfill his longing through the perfect union of their souls. Watching the Danube meet his love is the perfect and overwhelming show of what making love really means. The joining, the union, their becoming one is breathtaking to the point that there is only one wish left in your heart, painfully reminding you that it needs fulfillment: go search for your own story... My first encounter with the Danube happened when I was around ten years old and I could not help noticing his struggle within that narrow space of a canal that was supposed to guide and tame his waters before joining the sea. I did not know then, but I have grown to know it now, how powerful, intempestive and persistent love calling can be. Danube's love story is my story... One does not understand real love unless one knows Danube's story. Danube's feelings for his lover do not know distances and obstacles and, on his way to joining her, he waters the lands of more countries, moves mountains and makes his way through them. His waters, now blue, then grey, know the most intense passions from anger and despair till reaching the sky's horizons. I think of the Danube and I think of my own love...and my heart sighs with happiness and contentment for she "knows"... she has "this"...she has lived through the deepest feelings and sensations since she met her king. Danube is a king, the most powerful I know and my king has come along his shores...straight and proud, sharp look and tender-hearted... The Danube embraces his lover, the sea and she twirls in his arms, nesting at his large chest and their union is celebrated through waves of happiness that raise them both in a perfect tune towards the brightness of the sun... Then they get down relaxed and peaceful, unseparable, undistinguishable, for love does not know beginning or end...love just is...love just happens...love is the perfect continuation of one through the other. Now I know... Danube has taught me what real love is... Danube has taught me to "see" love when it appears... Danube has taught me that love is strength and will, torment and fire, tenderness and softness, velvety touches on each other's souls... Danube has taught me to softly seize love and never let it go... Danube has taught me burning passion through self forgetfulness... Danube has taught me to live through the other one more than through myself... Danube has taught me that love is a warm wave of overwhelming eternity...
