sometimes a sparrow makes me cry
she flies away through the balcony sometimes she hits me
like by mistake
she tells me that she would step out of the bathroom dressed just
in a green towel
and in some bear-shaped slippers
she would let the coffee to overboil
and in general she would like to do all the things a woman would do
you trifler she tells me what have you promised me the last time
ashamed i stare my eyes on the floor
slow down my dear or the neighbors will hear you
and they’d think I’m not a man of my word
I know I’ve promised you that you will do all those things
but I was busy with the airports and press conferences
she’s staying miffed in a corner
and you have brought me nothing not even a postcard from chamonix
and silly me braided you gloves before you leave

what in god's name I supposed to do to keep my word
every time I promise myself that starting today
I’m moving into "eternitatea"
I’m taking my pillow 500 pesos and my voice recorder
maybe in my absence she will become a real woman
look the emptiness within me is still warm
after I moved

I’ll have no worries about the living
I have a friend in San Antonio or Kentucky
I never saw him but we use to hail
every saturday morning
good morning or good evening by your time
good morning or good evening by how old is our flesh
I like pea soup and smoked fish
my child is sleeping right now
you know
uncovered stories like in the last talk show when the milky way
was invited

starting today I’m moving into "eternitatea"
maybe she wants to exist in my place
to bring me scrambled eggs with cinnamon while I’m still in bed
ice on the shore of moldova river on the bistrita river ice gorge
was announced on the radio
the warmth enervates us
“so sad to be alone”
I whisper in her ear

sometimes a woman makes me cry
she hits me like a knock on a door
she would let the coffee to overboil
and in general she would like to do all the things that a dolphin would do
you trifler she tells me what have you promised me the last time
impatient she whirls her hair around her finger
ashamed I stare my eyes on the floor
slow down my dear on my right shoulder I have a
kingdom of gnomes
an I don't want them to believe that I’m not a man of my word

starting today I’m moving to “eternitatea”
you’ve said that yesterday too she answers
I know I promised you but I had work to do
a badger caught his feet in a noose and I had to rescue him
she’s staying miffed in a corner
you were at Buckingham palace and you haven’t even told the queen
about me

I’ll have no worries about the living
I have a cigar lighter with a flashlight and a glass coffin
someday I’ll kiss a woman that chocked on an apple
and I must be ready
the emptiness within me is warm
I start a fire before leaving
