DESTINY’S ECHO
by Sorana Lucia Salomeia A clear star appears on the nameless sky spreading dreams of light and visions over the endless horizon, above the torpid seas of the night. Penetrated by its soft, calm flame, a drop of serenity lights up with shivers, like a starry tear, and its yearning is heading for the desire of living above the ghastly shadows of its world. It aims for immortality, an everlasting luminary it longs to be, but its longing, the irony of fate, stands unreachable beyond its touch. In the night of the mighty waves of silence its yearning grows and is pierced by a ray of the luminary’s gentle light and, again, the hope for endless wisdom comes to life. But dreams that have no hope are often given no meaning; they are chimeras, lost illusions, dry flowers that once could have given sense to a desperate life. They are lost in time and space, just like the lonely leaves of autumn that rusty, yellow or crimson – red depart from their dear branches. They say a prayer that no – one hears and sing a song that no – one knows yet. Only they, the little melancholic leaves of autumn, have the key to the lock that keeps so many secrets and untamed mysteries enchained. And the drop of serenity now carries its destiny like an eagle that carries its broken wing through the merciless blizzard of the cold winter. The aim is always up there, in the sky… can we reach it? Have we ever reached it? In the mist of the endless universe, a place we so often explore with the eyes of our minds, but still so unreachable…
