He said:
“Stop cutting off your toes! I know you have a big foot, but keep your toes clean!”

She said back:
“Sometimes, a poet is more pragmatic than an accountant. Sometimes, the spinal column lengthens too fast, too tall. Dangerously. It needs surgery. Just taking off few vertebras, carefully, not touching the spinal marrow, and your ego become your friend. Sometimes, I have this wonderful experience. After, it’s perfect.
And I don’t care if somebody could see the black under my nails-heads. So, don't worry! I don't cut off my toes. It's the column's pedicure."
