He became the King of England on 21st of April 1509 and ruled until his death (28 January 1547). During his reign, Henry VIII embraced the most modern means available to present an image of himself as “the powerful”, absolute monarch, including his changing political, religious and diplomatic beliefs and allegiances. June 2009 marks the event by organising a series of activities at Greenwich Palace, now home to the Old Royal Naval College. Activities will include: a hunting party, falconry, Henry VIII & Catherine of Aragon court, armours display, have-a-go archery, Barbour surgery & Tudor tavern & theatre, Tudor for combat & encampment, street entertainment, Tudor coin striking, Tudor rope making and baskets, Tudor pottery and puppet show. Entrance is free. Hope to see you there.
