He feels the taste, of her lips, on his own,
Eons have passed, since he started down this road,
He thinks of her now, his one and only mate,
But regrets are futile now, a little too late.
His death is close, as he takes a glance at her now,
Remembering, the past, at the time of their vow,
And before that, long since he was born,
And when he made his, vow, the words he has sworn.
She's his equal, his maiden and his one and only pair
The only one for him, that will give him an heir,
But when he is born, her life will also stop,
And also her immortality's thread, the golden string will crop.
Yes, they are immortals, endless and old
Underneath their stare, and watch, even mountains did fold,
Maybe they have been here all along,
After all this time, he always gets their age wrong.
But immortals cannot even procreate
Because if so, their life, will reach the end of the slate.
But his love for her has become without bounds
So he welcomes it, and how merciful it sounds.
The pact they made, was so long ago
For them time, has crept to a halt, become that slow.
They swore to each other, with a pact of blood
On a cold rainy midnight, kneeling in the mud.
They swore, that they will, find a way to each other,
Even if, they are sister, and brother.
They were then taken, apart, by hateful men
It happened so long ago, it's been millennia since then.
They swore to each other, that by themselves they will never die
And their wish, has since long become , a curse, within a sigh.
They swore, that they would find each other and be free
However long it would take, together they would eventually be.
So eons have since passed, he has since had many women,
But with each, his lust for her, became more driven.
His search for her, has long become his curse
But he tells himself, other lovers had it worse.
His search brought him to all corners of the earth,
But for him, his journey seems all the while worth.
They both know, they will die when they'll meet
He will die during conception, and she hearing their child’s first weep.
That is their journey, their wish and their fate
No matter the centuries, the millennia they have to wait.
And finally they day, they've been waiting has come
He found her in, Rome, this is the eightieth time, he's come.
But finally, he saw her, in a square, reading a book,
And his heart pounded so hard he almost shook.
He wonders, is she his immortal love, that he searched
Will she remember their oath, for all of its worth.
Of course she will, it's consequences lay bare
The years passed searching, still force him to stare.
He swallows his angst, and feelings of hope....
And goes to his maiden, not knowing that he'll cope.
She raises her eyes so beautiful, and green
The most beautiful eyes, he's ever since seen.
She tells him smilingly with a whisper
„Hello brother...long has it taken you to reach hither."
He then takes her figure, and wants to kiss her slow,
But she stops him, and why they both know....
„You know what this means, beloved" she tells under her voice
„Can you go through, what we vowed, making our unholy choice?"
„Yes I can, and I will" he says shakingly slow,
I still want you, regardless of what fate will bestow.
So then, they met later that day,
To speak of their lives, what happend on the way,
And so they spoke, acouting to eachother,
The things they have seen, and their thoughts, one of the other.
So when the time came, and they felt were ready,
His fears all gone, and his will grew ever so steady.
She whisperd, to him, so softly so sweet.
„Take me beloved....up from my feet"
He carried her to his bed, in a pentouse, he had bought,
He owned it, for centuries, while the renaissance he had sought.
He was now, the richest man on the earth.
But secretly from the shadows, no knew his real worth....
She was a great scollar, had written great works
Under false name, sometimes male, of her clerks.
She knew, all there was on this planet to know,
But by her teenager looks, it really didn't show.
The years that separated now, have quickly left,
All there is now, the love that they felt.
And now he takes her with a passion, like no other.
His death will some shortly, after this night, as her lover.....
