Look at the beauty over there!
Day and night combing her hair
at the river lonely and still
her charms have locked me in a thrill
her long strands with the wind they play
he cradles her in his arms like a babe
the thick mane is hiding her face
I want to ask her, yet I am afraid
why she lowers her head in grim
and never shows her flawless skin
shame cannot be the reason why
could it be grief that makes her cry?
You can see how beautiful she is,
and her sad story goes like this:
the river took her love suddenly
the immense pain turned her into a tree
where she stands frozen in eternal sorrow
and is called the Weeping Willow
