III āA look into the pastā
Velvet was considered by many people a cold, missing heart woman. And the truth is that she actually was!! But like most cold people, she had strong reasons of having that though personality, and that is just something no one can understand without knowing at least a piece of her pastā¦ ā¦1812, Paris!!! The new enriched singer by name Fred Monlaire, decided to try his luck and open a school of music, though 19th centuryās Parisians had barely known how to sing their own anthem. Thinking it more, I suppose they didnāt even have one. All kinds of aristocrats came out with their own pathetic version of anthems; so the people didnāt know anymore which one was the right one!!! One night of December, Mr. Monlaire decided he should organize a party to promote his new ābusinessā. And so he did. The night turned out to be extraordinary: dances, long talks about music and boring subjects about kings and their mistresses, that did not interest the host at all, entertained the night. But the party was not the most important event Fred Monlaire had to face up with, that evening. After midnight, when all the guests left, our musician decided to take a walk through the Square and admire the beauty of Paris at night. But when he got out of the door, he had a big shock when seeing a basket with a special delivery in it: a baby!! I will not tell you how she grew up into a child, I will only write down the most important facts: Fred decided to keep the baby girl, and named her Juliette! When Juliette was five, she still didnāt know the truth about her origin, fact explained by one simple fact: she never asked anything about her family or about her mother. She used to spend all day long playing with dolls, acting, with her then āfatherā, and singing happy childish songs Fred wrote for her. She already knew how to play the piano and by the age of 10, she could play 5 different instruments. You will now ask how can such an educated girl become a circus dancer?? The reason of that, youāll find just a bit later! One night, when she was 11 years old, her father called her, announcing he has something extremely important he needs to talk with her: - Darling, you see, Iām afraid thereās something Iāve been hiding from you all this years. - Hiding?? Asked Juliette apparently worried. What is it?? Something bad?? - I think youāre old enough to know that, 11 years agoā¦ - ā¦on a dark night of December, you found me on your door steps?? Fred looked terrified at her. -How do you know?? -Not how father, better sayā¦since when?? Iāll answer that quickly, shall I??: since I was 7. Itās a curious fact the way she found out and Iām afraid thatās something she never reavealed. But even more curious is the reason why? she kept it quiet. But anyhow, after that night nothing unpredictable happened into the Monlaireās house. But 4 years later, Fredās school started to loose itās privileges and students, and all of his fortune started to become lower and lower every day, until he found himself into the cruelest poverty. Itās then when, having a friend as owner of a Circus and a daughter very good at dancing, decided to try and give Juliette a better life, not as far good as the one before, but a better as the one at the time. A Circus life!! So at the age of fifteen, Juliette Monlaire became the most beautiful dancer in all Circusās history: Velvet!! Though at the beginning she enjoyed it, after a while she started missing the fancy life she lived before. And then is when she replaced her heart with a frozen one!!
