i chose a new wall paper for my inner-me
it was a leftover
from somebody's DIY project
it's trendy and goes well with the joy
of other people's lives

it also covers holes, despairs
and other cracks of my soul
you can spill all sorts on it
it's regret-proof and doesn't fade with envy

everybody shows great interest
they want to know how did i get such a good deal
i laugh and invite them over
to my wonderful new inner-me
we drink champagne and
eat colour-coordinated things
compare sophisticated shades of hope
and discuss the newest trends in ego

at night, when they're all gone
i peel one corner off
come out
and breath
